Man Arrested For Shooting Cat In Pillowcase With Shotgun
Booked For Two Misdemeanors
Omaha, NE - Police arrested a 56-year-old man after he reportedly shot and killed a cat in a pillowcase with a shotgun.
Is this a case of animal cruelty or euthanasia?
The police report states Robert K. Rogers killed a feral cat but his neighbor, who’s also his tenant, is taking his side.
Brian Hagge rents Roger’s basement. He says his landlord was taking care of a relative’s cat.
Hagge says he wasn’t there when the cat was wounded but it happened after midnight and there was no place to take it. Hagge says the Rogers’ own other animals.
Mark Langan, spokesman for the Nebraska Human Society says Rogers also may have tried to shave the cat with an electric razor right before pulling the trigger.
Police reports show that Rogers was intoxicated at the time.
Rogers was booked on two misdemeanors--using an explosive device and animal cruelty. No court dates have been set yet.
