Sarpy County, NE - Authorities called in the bomb squad Saturday afternoon after someone reported seeing a suspicious package.

Sarpy County Sheriff’s Deputies say a driver noticed the package sitting on a fire hydrant and called police.

Officers examined the package, and it turns out it was just an empty box.

"If you find a package sitting out in the middle of nowhere wrapped up with a bow on it, it just isn't normal so it's best to get it checked out,” said Sarpy County Sheriff’s Captain Dan Williamson.

Authorities had to close Cornhusker Road from 25th to 36th street to investigate.
