Omaha, NE - A mother who lived with her toddler in a 12-year-old car outside a homeless shelter has been fined $50 by a judge. But Theresa Stockfeld doesn't have her three-year-old daughter back.

Police found Stockfeld living in the Pontiac Bonneville outside the Siena Francis House in April. They said she'd been living in the car for about two weeks--with "several intoxicated transient males" taking care of her daughter when Stockfeld left "for periods of time."

When officers found the girl, her diaper hadn't been changed in a long time and the interior of the car was filthy--with several piles of clothes, trash and food. Police also found a weapon within the child's reach.

Stockfeld pleaded guilty to misdemeanor child neglect earlier this week. She's due in court later in July to see if the judge will let her have her daughter back.
