He Was Celebrating His Birthday; Hit and Killed Young Mother
Bond Set at $200,000
Omaha, NE - He was celebrating his 35th birthday. Now Joseph Brosnihan is facing up to 70 years in prison for hitting and killing a young mom.
A judge Wednesday set Brosnihan's bond at $200,000.
Police say 26-year-old Ashley Rodriguez was in the roadway at 64th and Q Streets last Sunday when Brosnihan hit her with his car--and drove off. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Brosnihan turned himself in on Monday and was charged with felony motor vehicle homicide and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.
According to Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine: "Brosnihan admitted to drinking before the accident and being intoxicated when he struck Rodriguez. Brosnihan also admitted to leaving the scene and did not offer or render any aid to her."
Brosnihan has a previous DUI conviction.
He's due back in court in July.
