Remember Naked Joyrider? He's Baaaaaack
Accused Of Stealing...Jet Fuel!
Lincoln, NE - A naked joyrider who made headlines--and got jailtime--is back in the news.
Police say 33-year-old Nickolus Borgman stole 2700 gallons of jet fuel from his employer over a two-month period recently. He reportedly took the almost $15,000 of fuel from Silverhawk Aviation while on work release.
Police arrested Borgman for felony theft. They say he worked at the aviation company as a front desk clerk and planned to use the stolen fuel to run equipment and machinery on his farm.
Two-and-a-half months earlier, a judge sentenced Borgman to six months in jail for a naked joyride and his third DUI. He was also sentenced to five years probation, and lost his license for 15 years.
He attracted the attention of law enforcement when a Lancaster County deputy found two men and two women in a parked pickup in February of 2011. But he didn't find any clothes.
The deputy was on a call to check a "suspicious" vehicle. He found the naked joyriders instead. It was 2:25 in the morning and the driver had a "strong odor of alcohol" along with bloodshot eyes.
In the bed of the pickup: a Busch Light beer box with some empty cans.
And some clothing.
The driver--Borgman--eventually pleaded no contest to a third DUI and was sentenced to jail.
At the time of his arrest, Borgman was also cited for no seatbelt, having an open container, and an "overloaded" front seat but those charges were dismissed.
The women in the pickup were 31 and 36 years old. The second man was 22.
He's due in court on the theft charge in late June.
