La Vista Man Dies in ATV Crash
PLATTSMOUTH, Neb. (AP) - A La Vista man died Sunday after the ATV he was riding flipped over on top of him.
The Cass County Sheriff's Department says 46-year-old Shawn Mason died at an Omaha hospital after the accident near Plattsmouth.
Mason was driving the four-wheeler up a steep hill Sunday when it flipped over on top of him.
Mason's stepson, Tony Gambaiana, says he's surprised Mason wasn't wearing a helmet at the time because he was a safety-conscious man.
Mason spent 20 years in the Air Force before retiring as a master sergeant.
