Omaha, NE - The FDA is investigating, but not recalling, dog food made in China that might be toxic to your pet's health.

The treats in question, from Chicken Creek Ranch Jerky to the Waggin' Train brand, may look harmless enough, but according to the FDA they've made some pets very sick.

"The biggest thing that I've seen is that the FDA doesn't know what's causing the problem," said pet store manager Mike Compton.

The symptoms are clear: A lack of appetite, vomiting, extreme thirst and kidney failure.  In just the past few weeks alone, the agency has received more than 400 complaints from concerned dog owners.

"It scares you," said one dog owner Lauren Uran.  "It's like can you really trust the manufacturing process?"

The FDA admits it has not been able to determine a definitive cause, but it is still looking into the matter searching for answers.

If you believe your dog has gotten sick because of these treats, you're urged to contact the FDA.  You can do so at www.fda.gov/
