Iowan Accused of Using Electrical Cord to Beat Son
Police Say It Happened after The Boy Took Mom's Shoes
Waterloo, IA (AP) - A 29-year-old Waterloo woman faces two child endangerment charges, accused of punching her son and beating him with an electrical cord. The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports Monette Oden was arrested on Monday and has already left the Black Hawk County Jail. Authorities say Oden punched the 11-year-old boy on Monday because he'd taken her shoes. Police say she used the electrical cord to beat him on Jan. 23. A public phone listing for Oden could not be found. Online court records don't list the name of her attorney. (Copyright 2012 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
