Bellevue, NE - A Bellevue boy is hospitalized after the family dog bites him in the face.

It happened Saturday night near 36th and Marie streets just south of Giles Road.  The Humane Society tells Action 3 News the four-year-old needed a number of stitches to the nose and lip at Creighton University Medical Center.  The family's pet Akita is now in the hands of the Humane Society and will be put down within ten days.

The owner was cited for not having the dog vaccinated.
