UNDERWOOD, IA (KMTV) -- Family and friends are grieving the loss of a loving young man.
Cody Gittins, 17, died after the Ford Escort he was riding in skidded off the wet road and into a ravine near 185th Street and Sumac Road. Gittins and three others had just left a graduation party, according to family.
"He was very loving, caring, and no matter what it was he would always want to hear about your problems," said Rylie Gittins, Cody's younger sister.
Gittins's cousin, Rhianna Meinke, said Gittins was her number one supporter, and she always turned to him for help.
"I was going through a really hard time," Meinke said through tears, "and he was the one saying 'Rhianna, don't do anything stupid,' he's like 'I'm here for you and I love you."
