It's the issue that has plagued the Omaha School District since the new school year started-busing delays, or no shows.

Monday night the school board heard from angry parents and at their bus contractor Student Transportation of America for over 2 hours.

STA apologized to OPS and the families who are angry about the bus service.

OPS board members criticized STA and OPS for not communicating better with parents on the problems they were having.

STA said they are experiencing major turnover with bus drivers and Omaha’s low unemployment rate isn’t helping the situation.

But they said there’s hope on the horizon, there’s currently 61 people in training to become a bus driver.

OPS superintendent Mark Evans said there’s not a single solution and hopes to have it resolved within the coming months.

OPS pays STA over $25 million dollars for bus services.
