Investigators say an on-going feud between two men led to a deadly shooting in Lincoln Monday.

The Lincoln Police Department arrested 24-year-old Matthew Pavey for the murder of 27-year-old James Carr.

Police said Pavey and Carr were talking outside before the shooting around 11:30 a.m. outside a home on N 20th Street, near Dudley Street.

Carr was shot multiple times, according to police, and died at the scene.

Police say they identified Pavey as a suspect and took him into custody about three hours later at a home on S. 11th Street, near Van Dorn Street.

“The two men have had an on-going feud with one another,” the Lincoln Police Department said in a prepared statement.

Pavey faces charges of first-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
