Today is Columbus Day, a day with special meaning for many.
For Jeff Caniglia and his family, the Italian flag he flies is representative of Christopher Columbus, an explorer from Italy.
Today's holiday marks Columbus's first voyage to the Americas, in 1492, and for Caniglia, the holiday has a deeper meaning.
"Everybody ought to be proud of what they have — the Czechs, Irish — be proud of where we came from,” Caniglia said.
New York celebrated the first Columbus Day holiday in New York, in 1792.
