Officials said that those who were likely exposed have been notified.

However, university officials wanted everyone on campus to be aware of the situation.

Creighton says that an individual developed symptoms on June 12th and the confirmation of the mumps was received on Wednesday.

Creighton University said they require all students to be fully vaccinated (two doses of MMR vaccine given after the first birthday and at least 30 days apart for students born after 1957).

They are asking for anyone who develop any of these symptoms before July 9, to isolate themselves from others and contact their health care provider and mention the possible exposure to mumps.

Earlier this month, Nebraska health department reported an outbreak of the mumps at Midland University.

It’s not known at this time if this recent case is related.
