Metro police departments to participate in 'National Drug Take Back Day'

A nationwide effort gets underway tomorrow to collect unused or expired medication.

The Omaha Police Department and Douglas County Sheriff's Office taking part in the drug take back day this Saturday.

Officials say drop off medications no longer needed.

The event will run from 10 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. 

 Four Walgreens, as well as, 4 Hy-vee stores are the locations.

Police departments in la vista, Bellevue, Fremont and Blair also have a collection site where you can drop-off unwanted meds.
