The rush for holiday gifts is in full swing and shoppers will be hitting the malls in the metro.

Thousands of people will be out this weekend and some will stop at Nebraska Crossing Outlets Mall.

“I am out shopping for my grown children because this is a great place to shop when everybody else is at work and I am retired,” said one shopper.

"Thanksgiving and Black Friday was insane,” said John Rieder Jr. with Frontline Security, who is the head of mall security.

Rieder said this time of year is one of the busiest and they do their best to keep the holiday spirit on the holly side.

“We try to monitor traffic flow as much as possible, make sure people are parking correctly,” he said.

He also reminds shoppers to make sure their car doors are locked and windows are rolled up.

“If you have so many things you need to take them back to your vehicle, just please lock your vehicle up, I don't know how many times a door or trunk was open and a Kate Spade bag was in there.”

The Frontline team will drive through the area and walk the mall.

Rieder said they watch for shoplifters and try to help people in any way possible, “Just wearing the uniform and walking around it gives people the eye, oh someone is watching and we try to be a friendly monitor.”
