Offutt Air Force Base confirms an investigation is underway into the death of an airman.
According to a statement from Drew Nystrom with Public Affairs, someone found 55th Wing member Airman First Class Rhianda Dillard, 20, dead in her dorm room on August 1, 2016. The autopsy showed a preliminary cause of death as "undetermined." Toxicology results could take between six and eight weeks.
A1C Dillard was originally from Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Nystrom said, "Airman Dillard was a valued member of the 55th Wing and we send our deepest condolences to her family and friends."
Airman First Class Timothy Wilsey, 20, was picked up for military desertion and questioning in connection with a death investigation, but Nystrom would not comment on that.
