A pathologist testifying for the state in Douglas County District Court explained that the fatal wounds found on the victims in the Creighton killings were similar.

Prosecutors reveal a very detailed account of what was found at the Brumback house, and how brutally they were killed on Thursday.

One OPD crime lab technician described documenting evidence at the Brumback home in May 2013 for more than 12 ½ hours.  It was part of the testimony in Douglas County District Court.

Anthony Garcia is charged with killing Doctor Roger and Mary Brumback, and Thomas Hunter and Shirlee Sherman in 2008 allegedly because he was fired from the Creighton Pathology Department.

Crime lab techs collected evidence from all over the house including pieces of a firearm believed to be used on Roger, knives from near Mary’s body, and about a dozen computers.

They also swabbed numerous areas of blood spatter throughout the house, looked for fingerprints, and diagramed how a shot was fired through the front door and hit drywall above a closet.  A bullet was found in the kitchen.

The defense questioned if that evidence fit OPD Detective Derek Mois’ theory that Roger was standing in front of the door when he was shot.  The techs said it wasn’t discussed.

Pathologist Michelle Elieff is back to testify about how the Brumback’s died.  She says Roger was shot three times, twice in front, and was stabbed 6 times on his neck almost severing his carotid artery.  He died from the gunshot wound to the torso, but the stab wounds could’ve been fatal also.

Doctor Elieff said Mary had many more injuries including multiple stab wounds to her arms, hands, face, and neck.  She apparently had defended herself.    Mary had a 4 inch gaping cut from the back of her neck to the right side made up of many cuts.  Dr. Elieff said she died of multiple stab wounds.

Prosecutors say it shows a clear pattern between the two separate murder scenes.

Those DNA and fingerprint results haven't been revealed in court yet.  Testimony continues on Friday.
