After taking a terrible fall Thursday morning, the mayor's office said Mayor Jean Stothert will not need back surgery and will head home from the hospital on Saturday.
The Omaha mayor fell while she was walking her dogs Thursday morning.
Mayor Stothert is at Nebraska Medicine after fracturing a vertebrae in her lower back.
Her office says she was in severe pain.
A town hall meeting scheduled for Thursday night was rescheduled.
