The building that housed the Storz Trophy Room on the riverfront is set for demolition.

The Omaha city council gave final approval to knock it down.

Right now it’s just a vacant building with prime-real estate next to the river, it’s been empty for months, as the business couldn’t keep up with the bills.

But after this place get knocked down, what comes next?

“I think they should build some sort of monument,” said Kayla Tiffey.

“If you get some sort of kids activities a little Farris wheel or, you know just a little carnival,” said Shane Hagan.

“Having some kind of a restaurant, maybe on a smaller scale, with some retail would be popular,” said Mike Kinney.

The city owns the property but there's a limit on what could be built there since years ago a lead plant was there.

The demolition is slated for September 12th with a cost of $139,000.
