Bond set for accused I-80 drug runners

Two men accused of trying to haul more than 220 pounds of marijuana through Nebraska were in court Monday afternoon.

A Douglas County judge set bond for 26 year old Rupert Prout of Las Vegas and 22 year old Luis Casillas' of Las Cruces, New Mexico at  $500,000 each. They're charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver

Deputies stopped a vehicle on eastbound Interstate 80 near 60th Street in Omaha for speeding just after 7:30 p.m. on April 27th. During the stop, the deputy became suspicious and had his K9 walk around the vehicle. The K9 then signaled that there were drugs inside the vehicle. Deputies found three large rubber totes in the back seat which contained 221 pounds of marijuana packaged in bricks.
 
Deputies say the two were taking the pot to Minnesota.
