We all know how hot it's been this weekend. Many have been beating the heat with a dip in the pool. Apparently the pool wasn't just the place for humans to swim this weekend.

This summer has been one of the busiest for the Maple Village Country Club pool. 260 families come come to beat the heat. With some recent hot summer nights, they also had some late night visitors. Because of that, this summer is the first time managers put in security cameras.

"We had people stealing copper from our bathrooms. We had our chairs and stuff thrown in the pool. It was time to put a deterrent out there by having cameras," Brett Matthies with MapleVillage Country Club pool said.

Now they have another deterrent at the pool. You could call it an overnight life guard. A giant wild cat made an appearance on their security camera footage this weekend. In it, the animal is walking around the pool.

"So we caught it on camera. It was about 2:30, 3 in the morning. And it was just walking, looking around, not a care in the world," Matthies said.

Matthies says the Humane Society told the pool board they think its a Lynx, a medium sized wild cat, similar to a bobcat. They notified Game and Parks.  This isn't the first time for wild animals at the pool.

"You know with the creek and stuff that runs through here there are wild animals everywhere. We have bats at night that come and eat mosquitoes and they get a drink of water. There's hawks and stuff in the trees," Matthies said.

Staff says they'll be on the lookout for another cat sighting. Matthies hopes that this sighting will also ward off any teens wanting to sneak in for a late night swim.
