Jurors were released Tuesday night without a verdict reached in the Anthony Garcia trial.
Jury deliberations will continue Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m.
Earlier on Tuesday, the case was handed over to the jury after closing arguments.
Garcia is on trial for the 2008 murders of Thomas Hunter and Shirlee Sherman in Dundee and Dr. Roger and Mary Brumback in 2013.
Jurors have the option of either convicting Garcia of first or second degree murder or find him not guilty.
In the closing statements, prosecution argued that Garcia had no other good reason to be in Omaha on May 12, 2013, other than to kill the Brumbacks as revenge for being fired from Creighton in 2001.
Garcia made a purchase at the wing stop on 72nd and pacific just before prosecutors say he killed roger and Mary Brumback.
The defense argued the prosecution's window for the murders is too specific to make Garcia the only possible killer.
They also argued that Garcia didn't search for the Brumbacks because the phone data was contaminated by OPD..
Prosecutors say that is ridiculous.
Brenda Beadle argued that witnesses pointed out a vehicle and a description of the Dundee suspect that matched Garcia and that isn't just circumstantial evidence.
The defense argued not one witness pointed out Garcia while they were on the stand 10 feet away from him.
Both sides went after testimony from Cecilia Hoffman who told the jury Garcia said he killed a little boy and an old lady.
Her credibility will ultimately be determined by the jury.
Prosecutors said Garcia committed the murders as revenge from his firing from the Creighton pathology department in 2001.
