7 things to know about President Obama's visit

President Barack Obama will visit Omaha as part of his traditional trip following the State of the Union address.  Here are some things to know about his visit:

Where is he speaking?

The president will deliver remarks at the University of Nebraska Omaha Baxter Arena.

When is he expected to arrive and depart Omaha?

Arrival and departure times for the president, including the exact time of his speech have not been made public yet.  Check KMTV.com for updates when they are announced.

What time does the Baxter Arena open?

Doors to the Baxter Arena open at 1 p.m. You are advised to arrive early to go through security screening before entering the building.

How can I attend?

Tickets are required. They were distributed to the general public on Sunday and UNO community on Monday.

What can I bring?

Prohibited: Large bags, signs or banners, illegal drugs or alcohol, weapons, noisemakers, or any item deemed to challenge public safety

Where can I park?

Parking at Baxter Arena will be closed.  You are urged to use parking lots on the Dodge and Pacific campuses and take the UNO shuttle.

Shuttles will run from 11 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and again immediately following the event. Click here for a parking and shuttle map.

How can I see the president's speech, if I can't attend?
