Omaha, NE - A typical day at school turned into chaos for a 13 year old girl.
While waiting for her mother to pick her up outside of King Science and Technology Magnet Middle School a classmate lit her hair on fire.
A four page police report shows the incident happened January 8th. It says the suspect also waiting outside picked up a Bic lighter, held the lighter up to the back of the teen's head and singed the bottom of her hair.
A witness noticed the smell and flames and told the teen "wow, your hair is messed up."
Action 3 News knocked on the door of the witness's home, no one answered. The victim's family also declined to comment.
The document indicates the suspect may have been upset with the victim for not including her in a birthday party.
Police arrested the teen for misdemeanor assault.
