"With all the brown water around the base of the toilets and everything you can see where it came from, it's pretty obvious."
After the water main break Loyd Andrew noticed water damage in the basement of this 100 year old church.
The floor covered in mud and sludge made a messy cleanup, but he says he's lucky.
"It's gonna be a little hassle, but not a big deal... it could've been a whole lot worse."
For some, it was. Like every restaurant in town the Quarthouse Bar on Main Street couldn't use their water.
"I do a lot of cleaning and I use water to do that with and of course doing the dishes you know."
Bartender Keri Bogle had to use plastic cups and buy 2 liters of soda. She didn't want to put any customers at risk.
Five gallons of water sit in these pots to boil in the kitchen at South-side Jonesy's Taco House.
Plenty of clean water for chefs to cook with and for the restaurant to make it through the business day.
"I think my staff was on its toes and we were able to get all the food cooked with sanitized clean water today so."
Petty stocked up on rubber gloves, sanitizer, canned pop and plenty of bottled water.
"Like I said it's been, since about 6 this morning it's been non-stop our customers are coming in for water and that's about it."
The water bottle craze at the Madison Avenue HyVee didn't let up. The store needed two truckloads of water delivered just to keep up with demand.
