Local Family Builds LEGO Ornaments for Charity
Proceeds Benefit Local Shelters
The Carlson family has been building LEGO ornaments for the past four years. They sell the ornaments and ornament kits in order to help those in need.
10-year-old Brandon Carlson and 6-year old Aidan expect to raise about $3,500 this year. The Siena/Francis House will receive the bulk of the proceeds this year. Two domestic abuse shelters will also receive products purchased from the proceeds.
Brandon says he takes part in this project because, "we just think it's important that everybody can live a good life and have the same opportunities that we do."
Tim Sully with the Siena/Francis House says the need is greater than ever, and he hopes others may be inspired by the Carlson family. He said, "what I hope is this might be a catalyst for other families and other organizations to think creatively about how they might be assistance to folks who are not as well off as they are."
