For the first time this season, Omaha could finally be covered in white.

"Oh I hope we get it all."

"Haven't had snow for what 250 days? Kind of excited."

While some people are amped for the snow to fall, city workers are busy making sure the roads are safe.

"If the forecast holds true, tomorrow evening could be a pretty sloppy commute home for a lot of people."

All day public works crews have been checking all 100 snow emergency vehicles, prepping snow plows and salt trucks making sure they're ready to drop the salt by midnight.

"It's something we can do on major streets it's something we can do on secondary streets. You know it's a decision that we'll make once the forecast really firms up and we know when this thing is gonna start."

At Westlake Ace Hardware...

"I think we've noticed more of an uptick at least today and I think we'll notice a lot more tomorrow. They're asking for everything. They're asking for ice melt, they're asking for snow shovels."

The snow supplies are flying off the shelves.

"They were forecasting 7-8 inches of snow and I just want to be prepared just to be able to get out to my automobiles."

Not taking the risk of getting snowed in, Jan Clark bought a shovel hoping she'll be able to plow the driveway.

"We're stocking up!!!!!."

"Pizza, snack crackers, cantaloupe, bananas."

Even grocery stores noticed a crowd. Lines are long and supplies piled up. People don't want to risk it on the roads tomorrow.
