It's the dreaded word in an airport, cancelled. Passengers trying to get to the East Coast are racing against time.  Steve Hennings' son is trying to beat the storm and make it back to Baltimore. Hennings says, We're a little apprehensive about it but we figure the airlines and the pilots know what they're doing."

The airlines have cancelled more than 5,000 flights across the country including trips from Eppley. Major cities like new york are preparing for the worst. One visitor to Omaha says she's confident her son in Manhattan will ride it out just fine. Janet Stedman says, "New York City knows what to do with just about anything that comes there way and so if you're going to be in a place where someone is going to take good care of you as a city, I think New York is a great place to be."

Good luck getting there though. Forecasters say the two storms colliding could bring close to a foot of rain, horrible winds and snow stretching into kentucky. it's a combination that makes for a bad day at the airport. Hennings says, "I would have preferred for him to wait it out but his girlfriend was stuck in Baltimore, with a cat, and wanted him back."
