Injured Norfolk Catholic Football Player Headed to Rehab
One week after a spinal cord injury left him paralyzed, Isaac Pfeifer is headed to rehab.
Omaha, NE – One week after a spinal cord injury left Isaac Pfeifer paralyzed the Norfolk Football linebacker is headed to rehab.
After Pfeifer took a bad fall last Tuesday he is ready to get better and move forward.
“I think his mentality is let’s get going. Let’s work out. He’s very strong,” says Becky Pfeifer, Isaac’s mom.
Today, Pfeifer was transferred to Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln.
He was injured last week in the quarter finals. The Norfolk Catholic senior couldn’t feel anything in his lower body and was airlifted to the Nebraska Medical Center. Today, Isaac still can’t feel his legs but his family says he’s in good spirits and crossing some milestones.
“He moved his arms and is getting better. He has motion in his arms he raise them over his head. He got to finally start eating again that was a big day getting real food. So there’ve been little stops and hurdles that we’ve crossed,” says Neil Pfeifer, Isaac’s dad.
Isaac is thinking about his teammates tonight who play against Pierce.
