Food Pantries Across the Metro are Running Low
We’re just five weeks away from Thanksgiving and shelves are bare.
Omaha, NE – Food pantries across the metro are running low. We’re just five weeks away from Thanksgiving and shelves are bare.
Since 2009 the number of families seeking help from food banks in Omaha has grown by 40%; add to that growing cost of food and donations are down.
Organizers say it’s been hard to keep the shelves stocked. They are looking for donations mainly protein and dairy products.
Pantries we talked to all share the same story but they all say they haven’t had to turn anyone away yet they just aren’t able to give as much.
If you’d like to donate to Together Inc. please call Krissy Madje at (402) 345-8047 ext. 201
If you’d like to donate to the Salvation Army you’re welcome any time of year to the Salvation Army Lied Renaissance Center at 3612 Cuming Street or you can call 402-898-5953.
