Treynor, IA – Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney focused on the Federal Agricultural Policy at a farm in Van Meter today.
Iowa Farmer Darrin Eitmann says he doesn’t trust Romney, or President Obama. Eitmann owns a 3,500 acre farm of corn and soybean in Treynor.
“We’ve heard a lot of promises but when it comes right down to it nobody wants to make any decisions whether they are popular or unpopular,” says Eitmann.
Farm Service Company‘s Energy Manager, David Sell says most farmers want less regulation.
“Most regulations come with expenses to that business owner and that’s one thing they farming community is very interested in,” says Sell.
Romney said government regulations are sucking farmers dry. He said he wants to cut back on those regulations. But Sell says both candidates are giving lip service rather than actually giving a specific plan.
