Omaha, NE – The NCAA Tournament is starting Thursday and with St. Patrick’s Day this Saturday could make for a potentially dangerous mix.  Law enforcement is gearing-up to keep you safe while you celebrate.

Omaha Police are urging partiers to think twice before over doing it during this week.
Omaha is booming with people with plenty of places to go and lots of visitors here in the city. Police will be out in full force. So if you hit the bars you should know more officers will be on the streets.
With the NCAA games and St. Patrick’s Day this week the Omaha Police Department is using a $16,000 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
The Nebraska State Patrol is also joining in the effort. Troopers will put 261 hours of overtime starting Friday night until this Sunday for the holiday weekend. They received a $5,000 grant.
If you drink law enforcement is reminding everyone to have a designated driver.
There is a free way to get home if you’ve been drinking. Happy cabs will pick you up at a bar and drive you home. Call 402-330-TAXI. This safe ride home service is available starting at midnight Sunday morning till 2:00 a.m.
A local law firm is picking up the tab.
