Omaha, NE - A 25-year-old mother is accused of punching her 10-month-old in the face, causing a bloody nose, then attacking officers who responded to the call.
Police say Kyra Gates was holding her baby when they arrived. The child had a bloody nose; she refused to hand the baby over to officers.
Holding the 10-month-old in her left arm, Gates then reportedly tried to fight officers, punching and scratching one of them.
Gates was booked for misdemeanor child abuse/neglect, 3rd degree assault on an officer, 3rd degree assault, criminal mischief, obstructing a peace officer and resisting arrest.
