Omaha, NE - An army of plows battle the storm, pushing snow off the roads, trying to clear the way for drivers. But we uncover, it might not be enough.
Dale Butler: "We've only got so many people and so many trucks."
Dale Butler with the Nebraska Department of Roads tells Action 3 News, state crews are having a tough time keeping up with mother nature and are losing ground on the interstates and state highways. Butler says the plow drivers won't give up, but they do need your help clearing the roads.
Dale Butler: "Give them plenty of room because they can hit a bunch of snow and it will throw them around in the plow so they have to stay back, stay away from them.">
Butler believes the dangerous and difficult road conditions are going to get worse before they get better. Especially with more snow and stronger winds heading into the area.
Dale Butler: "The treating we'll do after the snow quits. Our problem is the temperatures will drop which makes the chemicals less effective. It's going to be a double whammy I'm afraid."
