Chance Paap faces Manslaughter Charges

Lincoln, NE - A missing persons case turns into a suspicious death investigation after the gunman reportedly confesses to shooting his friend.

Lincoln Police say 23-year-old Chance Paap walked into the police station and confessed to the shooting after at first fleeing the state.  He tells them he was handling a handgun when it went off the morning of Halloween, killing his 28-year-old friend.  Police have not yet released the victim's identity.

Paap then reportedly panicked, stuffed the victim's body in a closet at his home on 1431 S. 28th St. and left the state.  He returned November 3rd and reported the death to police.

Paap is being held in the Lancaster County jail on manslaughter charges.
