Shelter Works to Save Dog Badly Beaten with Baseball Bat

Glenwood, IA - 'Hooves and Paws Rescue Group' is seeking donations to save a dog that will have to have a leg amputated after vets concluded it was beaten by a baseball bat.  The rottie named Frannie was originally left at a shelter in Kentucky after its owners reported it had been hit by a car.  When vets examined the dog, however, they concluded something much more sinister.  The dog had been seriously beaten with a baseball bat or similar object.

The dog cannot hold her leg in place because of the serious damage.  Amputation is the only viable option according to the shelter.

'Frannie' was transported to the Hooves and Paws Rescue in Glenwood, IA Sunday night.  No word yet on when the amputation will be performed.

Those who would like to donate can do so through the shelter's website (see link on the left).  Donations are tax deductible to this non-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation.
