The Legacy Board Healing Gardens Rededication
THE HEALING GARDENS REDEDICATION AT THE NEBRASKA MEDICAL CENTER The Legacy Board of the Nebraska Medical Center will be celebrating new beginnings at The Healing Gardens rededication. The celebration is May 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm at The Healing Gardens, adjacent to the Lied Transplant Center at The Nebraska Medical Center. The Healing Gardens at the Nebraska Medical Center was designed to provide patients and their families a respite from the clinical setting. It offers a tranquil environment in a beautifully-landscaped, peaceful, outdoor setting for quiet reflection, relaxation and conversation. Patients and families can benefit from the psychological and emotional connection with nature. This connection can be an integral aspect of the healing and recovery process. In 1999, The Healing Gardens became a reality through the generosity of the University Hospital Auxiliary. It was dedicated on July 16, 1999. The rededication this spring comes after extensive renovations and signifies the new beginning of The Nebraska Medical Center Legacy Board. Guest speaker and honorary member of the Legacy Board will be Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert. The Legacy Board President is Jen Bartelt.
