Metropolitan Community College will hold its 15th annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration . Hinojosa, host of “Latino USA” on NPR, has more than 25 years of experience as a journalist and has garnered four Emmys for her work in cultural and political news. As part of the celebration, guests will be treated to a lunch from El Aguila Mexican Restaurant and music by Mariachi Las Cecilias, an all-female musical group. “MCC's Cinco de Mayo Celebration offers an opportunity for MCC students, personnel and the community to gather to honor the important history of Cinco de Mayo,” says Barbara Velázquez, coordinator of international and intercultural education. “Additionally, the holiday allows us to give thanks for the contributions of Mexicans and Mexican-Americans whose hard work and honorable character continue to strengthen our country.”
