Midlands Mentoring Partnership 5th Annual Youth Development Summit & Awards Luncheon

MMP is collaborating with the Metro Omaha Education Consortium (MOEC) and The Buffett Early Childhood Institute (BECI) in order to create a ground swell of support for the youth in our community and the schools and programs that serve them. MMP's one-day Mentoring Summit will feature New York Times best-selling author of How Children Succeed: Grit, Curiosity & the Hidden Power of Character, Paul Tough. The Summit will also feature nationally renowned mentoring experts, honorees for the Mentor of the Year and Advocate of the Year awards, and breakout sessions highlighting youth development best practices and new research. Paul Tough is a highly-acclaimed motivational speaker and best-selling author. Tough's most recent book, How Children Succeed: Grit, Curiosity, and the Hidden Power of Character, spent 12 weeks on the New York Times Bestsellers list. He is a contributing writer to the New York Times Magazine, where he has written extensively about education, parenting, poverty, and politics, including cover stories on character, education, and the achievement gap.
