Music in Catholic Schools Benefit Dance and Silent Aution

  • Print

Music in Catholic Schools is a parent-paid band program that serves students in grades 5-8 in 23 Catholic and 4 Lutheran schools in the metro area. Because we are parent funded, we seek outside funds to award tuition assistance to students who cannot participate without financial help. We would be most grateful for attendance at our special benefit or would welcome a donation, if you cannot attend. Music in Catholic Schools (MCS) has their benefit dance and silent auction on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 7:30-10:30 pm in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Center (5419 N 114 ST). The Nebraska Wind Symphony Swingtones, an 18-piece big band, will provide the music. Funds raised will be used to enable students who cannot pay the parent tuition the opportunity to participate in band at their school. Tickets are $15 each and are available at the MCS Office (Catholic Schools Office, 3300 N 60 ST) 402-557-5600; Dietze Music (131st and Center or 20th and Cornhusker); Schmitt Music (7355 Dodge ST) or at the door. Free swing dance lessons will be led by Dan Wondra from 6:15-7:15 pm. This is an adult ballroom dance. Some folks dress up, and others dress more casually. Please use discretion in bringing children to this event, as we want to make sure it is a wonderful night of dancing for those who come to dance. Bring your cash, checks, or credit cards for the many varied and wonderful items in the Silent Auction and for the delicious desserts and drinks that will be available! Thanks so much!
