HEARTLAND FAMILY SERVICE HONORS FAMILY LIFE Heartland Family Service sponsors Family Week of Iowa and Nebraska, proclaimed annually by the State’s governors during Thanksgiving Week. This year Family Week is celebrated November 24-30, 2013. The Salute to Families Celebration is the annual Heartland Family Service Family Week event. Local families will be honored for their strong family life, community service and leadership. This year we are featuring all past Leadership Honorees for their significant contributions to our community. Nominations are submitted by the general public. To nominate, persons need only call for a nomination form, write a simple paragraph, and mail it to Heartland Family Service at 2101 So. 42nd Street, Omaha, NE 68105. Heartland Family Service, founded locally in 1875, is a non-profit, non-sectarian human service agency with sixteen offices in east central Nebraska and Southwest Iowa. The mission of the agency is to strengthen individuals and families in our community through education, counseling and support services. The agency provides a variety of services to protect children, help adults and strengthen families of all ages and all socio-economic groups. Many programs are offered on a sliding fee scale.
