NCHS 1st Annual Volleyball Fundraiser Tournament

Nebraska Children's Home Society is hosting a fundraiser for our Foster Care Department – ‘Diggin’ Deep for Foster Care’ to benefit those children in the child welfare system.  Our foster care program expands to include the support of foster parents licensed through NCHS as well as kinship support services, visitation services, and permanency services.

The charity event is a sand volleyball tournament taking place at Sempeck's in Elkhorn, NE (20902 Cumberland Rd) to benefit children in foster care.  This event is taking place September 28th, 2013 beginning at 10:00AM.  There will be a competitive league tournament and a fun league tournament occurring simultaneously.

Teams with questions and/or wanting to register should contact Kim Arkfeld at 402.677.5218 OR

Standard rules apply respective of their league's dynamic (competitive/fun).  One important rule for both leagues is that any teams must have at least three girls on the sand volleyball court at all times.

Each team can be registered for $120 regardless of the number of players (no additional fees for teams consisting of more than six people).

This payment can be sent to:

Nebraska Children's Home Society

Attn: Kim Arkfeld

3549 Fontenelle Blvd.

Omaha, NE 68104

All checks payable to 'Nebraska Children's Home Society'.

There will be raffles and prizes along with a day of fun!

Raffles include a chance to win Husker Tickets complete with champion club access (this includes parking, food, and drinks), a Date Night Package, 10 one-month memberships to Kosama, a one-month membership complete with four personal training sessions at Platinum Fitness, an Arbonne product basket (high-end skincare, make-up, hair-care line), and 25$ worth of personalized embroidery services through Sweet-Tee Pies.  More raffle’s are in the works so we may have more by the time the tournament gets here!

While the start time is 10:00AM, the end time will be determined by the number of teams signed up.

Kids are welcome!  However, there will be no daycare provided.  Being that the event is held at Sempecks kids can enjoy the day bowling, playing laser tag, and other fun games!

Good persuasion points for the tournament:

·         Its at the end of September so the sand won’t be on fire like it is in July or August!

·         Its NOT a Husker game day!

·         Located at Sempecks so the kids can come and enjoy a day of bowling, laser tag, and other great games!

·         There is a Fun AND Competitive league!

·         Did I mention PRIZES & RAFFLES?!

Raffles include great items like Husker tickets, date night package, gym memberships and personal training sessions.

For explanation purposes:

Foster Parent Support: NCHS staff supports foster parents licensed through NCHS helping them to navigate the waters of child welfare from family team meetings to court hearings and beyond.

Kinship support is the support of those foster parents who are not licensed but have taken in children in emergency situations.  These individuals are either relatives or someone the child(ren) know well (such as a close family friend or daycare provider).

Visitation Services provide supervision during visitation for birth families, which the court has ordered there be supervision for.

Permanency services are NCHS staff working to locate a permanent home for those children in the child welfare system that need to be adopted or provided guardianship within families other than their birth families for a variety of reasons.
