My Dog Can Do That!

FREE Family and pet-dog friendly event open to anyone interested in dogs! Bellevue Dog Obedience Club is holding a FREE event, My Dog Can Do That!, on Saturday, September 21, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at their training facility, 1115 Applewood Drive, Papillion, Nebraska. The event, open to any type of dog, will feature family- and pet dog-friendly fun including: • Dog activities & games • FREE dog nail trims • Adoptable dogs • Vendors • Refreshments • Exhibits • Information about dog ownership Dogs and their owners will be able to try basic Agility, Obedience, and Rally exercises; participate with their dogs in games; learn about dog activities like pet therapy and AKC Canine Good Citizen certification; and sign up for classes. Club members will be on hand to answer questions about dog ownership and care, basic and advanced training, and competition. Dogs must be on a secure collar/harness and a sturdy 4’-6’ leash and have current vaccinations. For safety reasons, flexible/retractable leads will not be permitted and children must stay with parents at all times. The event is part of national American Kennel Club Responsible Dog Ownership Day (AKC RDO Day) celebrations. The goal of these events is to educate first-time dog owners about the fun and responsibilities of dog ownership and help current owners enhance relationships with their pets. AKC RDO Days run throughout the month of September, with hundreds of organizations around the country holding free events filled with fun and engaging activities every dog owner can enjoy.
