This Ship is Goin' Down: An Evening on the Titanic
The Titanic was meant to be an elegant, romantic affair where the wealthy rubbed elbows and Leonardo DiCaprio danced by some rats. Join us for the opening of this visual arts exhibit where we explore the last evening on this illustrious ship, beginning with all the opulence and luxury we idolize and continuing to the point when panic and chaos ensue. Our visual artists will examine the breadth of human emotion on an evening of leisure and uncertainty. Taking place over the course of a gourmet dinner, you’ll have a first class view of the night without the looming worry of the freezing seawater below. The dinner will include menu items from the 11-course meal served to passengers in what proved to be the last meal on that fateful night. Guests will take on the role of an actual passenger whose name and bio is printed on their boarding pass and will find out if they survive at the end of the evening, for history cannot be changed. Wine and music will accompany dinner. Get into the act! What would you have been wearing the night the ship sank? That's what you should wear tonight 'cause this ship is goin' down! Will you survive?
