Lauritzen Gardens Guild Plans Spring Luncheon and Lecture (Omaha, NE) Plans are underway for the annual Lauritzen Gardens Guild Spring Luncheon and Lecture. This year’s theme is “A Time to Plant,” featuring James Farmer. Farmer is a prolific author and contributing editor for Southern Living Magazine. The luncheon is being held on Wednesday, April 24 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Lauritzen Gardens. Mr. Farmer was raised “organic” where “farm to table” was a lifestyle before it became a popular notion. Hailing from the peach-laden fields and muddy rivers of middle Georgia, Farmer brings a unique blend of passion for cooking, gardening, design and architecture to each of his sought after events and demonstrations, some of which he will talk and demonstrate at the luncheon. Honorary chair is Helen Kennifick and General Chair is LaDona Rowings. Guild president is Carol Lynch. The luncheon will provide important funding to support the garden and its educational programs for children and families. Tickets are $75 and Patron tickets $150 which includes Farmer’s book, “A Time to Plant.” For more information about the Lauritzen Gardens and luncheon contact Kayla Scott at 402-346-4002 or go to
