Grief Seminar
Being Mindful: a thought provoking journey about loss and end of life
Wednesday, November 7 - 1 - 5 pm
UNMC Durham Research Auditorium
A lingering death can be difficult for family and friends as they work to make decisions for a loved one. This is especially true for people who have never had the opportunity to consider the death of another, let alone their own mortality. In the book Tuesdays with Morrie, Morrie Schwartz emphasizes the importance of talking about death and loss. He suggests that talking about death has the ability to transform the way we look at life. In many ways, talking about death and loss makes life even richer and more satisfying. On November 7, members of the UNMC community and the public are invited to attend a half-day seminar on death and loss. Julie Masters, PhD of UNO will focus on coming to terms with our own mortality. Marlene Schneider, BS of UNMC will highlight the value of facing grief and loss with courage and strength. Registration is required and cost is $15 for general and $35 for nursing. Go towww.olsoncenter.com to register online or call 402-559-6345.
