Kandiss Crone

Position: Anchor and Reporter

Kandiss Crone co-anchors the weekend editions of Action 3 News. She also files breaking news stories and special reports during the week. She comes to Omaha from Jackson, Mississippi where she worked at WLBT as a reporter and fill-in anchor.

While in Jackson, Kandiss helped cover Hurricane Gustav. She interviewed evacuees who left their homes from all parts of the state to take refuge at the Mississippi Coliseum. During her time in the south, Kandiss also chased tornadoes, and heavily covered politics.

Prior to Jackson, Kandiss worked at the NBC affiliate in Yuma, Arizona where she reported on immigration issues and even produced coverage of former President George W. Bush's visit to the Arizona-Mexico border.

Kandiss is a native of Oxnard, California. She holds a degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Southern California. She graduated magna cum laude from the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.

Community involvement is important to Kandiss. During her career, she has shared her time and talent giving speeches to area schools and community groups. She is also a proud member of the National Association of Black Journalists.

Kandiss got her start in television working as a news assistant at KABC-TV in Los Angeles. When she's not in the newsroom, she enjoys listening to live music, cooking, hiking, and song-writing.
