Lindsey Theis (pronounced like Peace, but with a "Th") is an Emmy-nominated reporter. She just joined KMTV in Omaha, NE in 2013 as a reporter and is excited to return to the Midwest. She currently reports everday on Upfront at 4.
Lindsey loves telling stories. It's the constant change, learning, and meeting people that she loves most about being a journalist. Before KMTV, Lindsey was a MMJ(multi-media journalist) with WPDE NewsChannel 15 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. As an MMJ, she produced, wrote, ran the camera, and edited her own stories.
Before that, Lindsey was in Atlanta, Georgia working at CNN Headquarters. She was a Video Journalist for CNN, HLN, and CNN International Networks. During that time she worked with former KMTV anchor Chuck Roberts. That's when she began hearing about what a wonderful city Omaha was. She has also worked as a Media Producer at CNN Radio in Atlanta.
Lindsey began her career as a Producer at WGN Radio in Chicago, and a Reporter/Producer at Naperville Community Television in Naperville, Illinois.
Lindsey reports on anything and everything: from Ebola patients being flown to Nebraska for treatment, to twin tornadoes in Pilger. Some of her most memorable stories so far include one on "Operation Red Harvest," where more than 20 members of the Hells Angels were arrested. She's covered wildfires and hurricanes during her time at WPDE. Her favorite stories are those about people.
On the non-news front, Lindsey's a foodie and dog lover. When she's not hitting the streets to cover the latest news, you can probably spot her either at some restaurant or at the dog park. She also loves improv theatre (the kind of performances where the actors make up everything on the spot).
If it's a story idea, or just a friendly hello, feel free to contact Lindsey.
