Craig Nigrelli

Craig Nigrelli brings 18 years of Broadcast News experience to Action 3 News.  He started in AM radio in 1990 before making the move to TV in 1993 as a reporter at WIVB-TV in Buffalo.  While there, he covered the crash of TWA flight 800 and was the first reporter on the scene when federal investigators raided the boyhood home of Oklahoma City bomber Timothy Mcveigh, 3 days after the massive explosion.

From there, Craig moved to Albuquerque where he took over morning and noon anchor duties at KOAT.  Craig's knowledge of politics and insightful questions earned him the nickname "the Matt Lauer of New Mexico" from Governor and former presidential candidate Bill Richardson.

After four years at KOAT, Craig moved to KSTP in Minneapolis/St. Paul where he covered such stories as the Red Lake School shooting.  He also traveled to Ramstein Air Base in Germany to report on Minnesota soldiers flying into and out of the war in Iraq.

Before coming to Action 3 News, Craig worked at KCTV in Kansas City where he was known for his hard-hitting investigations.

Craig is a graduate of Rutgers University where he played on the school's tennis team.  He is an avid hockey fan and enjoys playing whenever he has the chance.

Craig's wife, Carol, is also an accomplished news journalist, having been an anchor for 23 years at WIVB in Buffalo.  In 2003, she was inducted into the Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Fame alongside the late Tim Russert.  She is an accomplished cellist who enjoys being active in the classical music scene.
